About Jean:
French flutist and conductor Jean Ferrandis has performed worldwide in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, and the Théâtre des Champs Elysées. A highlight of his career was his encounter with Leonard Bernstein, who, after hearing him play Mozart’s Adagio, exclaimed, “It is Pan himself!” and composed a cadenza for him.
Ferrandis has appeared with leading orchestras and at major festivals, and collaborated with artists like Ivry Gitlis and Marie-Pierre Langlamet. He is also a dedicated teacher, giving masterclasses at institutions such as Juilliard and the Royal College of Music. Currently, he is the flute professor at the CSU Fullerton and at the Ecole Normale Musique de Paris.
